Fortress Energy Inc. is an Alberta-incorporated company whose primary focus is exploration, development and production of natural gas reserves in Western Canada. The Company's portfolio includes 152,619 gross acres (115,182 net acres) of land (84,497 net acres undeveloped) with its primary focus being in the broader Ladyfern and Chinchaga Areas of B.C. and Alberta. Included in this broader geographic area is the company's keystone property, Square Creek (AB) where it has recently consolidated its interest by aquiring its partners working interest in the fall of 2009 and where the company has recently ramped up production to over 8 Mmfc/d.
The Company's production base is approximately 1,700 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), which is 98 per cent weighted to natural gas. Fortress' strategy is to acquire underexploited assets with stable base line reserves below market metrics and to augment production from those assets through optimization programs and disciplined capital investment.
Fortress has approximately $90 million of available tax pools that can be used to shelter future income.
